Why nothing here replaces your own clinician, and what to do in an emergency.

Age With Flavor is a brand website of Perks Media LLC.

Last updated: July 29, 2026

Everything published on Age With Flavor is general information. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a clinician who knows you, has your history in front of them, and can examine you.

Reading this site does not create a provider relationship

I am a health writer, not a doctor, dietitian, pharmacist, or therapist. Nothing here creates a doctor-patient or provider-patient relationship between you and me or between you and Perks Media LLC. Articles are researched and sourced, and I link to the studies so you can read them yourself, but research is general and you are specific.

Talk to your own clinician first

Before you change what you eat, start or stop a supplement, adjust an exercise routine, or make any decision about a medication, talk with a qualified healthcare professional. This matters especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are managing a chronic condition, take prescription medication, or are making decisions on behalf of a child or teen.

A specific note on GLP-1 medications

A lot of what I write touches on GLP-1 medications and eating well while taking them. None of it is prescribing guidance, dosing guidance, or a recommendation to start or stop any drug. Those conversations belong with your prescriber. If something you read here raises a question, bring the question to your appointment.

Recipes and nutrition numbers

Nutrition information on recipes is an estimate. It is calculated from standard databases and will shift with the brands you buy, how you measure, and how much a serving actually turns out to be. Treat those numbers as a guide, not a lab result. Check ingredients yourself if you have a food allergy, a medical dietary restriction, or a condition that requires precise tracking.

Content about children and teens

Articles about kids’ and teens’ health are written for parents who want to be better informed before a pediatrician visit, not to replace one. Children are not small adults. Dosing, symptoms, and nutritional needs all differ by age and weight, and a pediatrician should be the one making those calls.

In an emergency

Do not use this site to decide whether a situation is urgent. If you think you or someone else is having a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number, or go to the nearest emergency department. If you are in the United States and struggling with thoughts of suicide or self-harm, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Links to other sites

Articles link out to studies, organizations, and products. Those sites have their own content and their own policies, and I do not control what they publish or how they change over time. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.
